Reefton Park Dexter Stud was founded by Peter and Gill Carter

in 2001. It was originally located at Reefton in the Upper Yarra

Valley near Warburton. Because of an increasing herd size it

became necessary to find a larger property. Reefton Park Dexter Stud is now situated in the rolling green hills of Neerim East, West Gippsland, Victoria.

The safe and ethical treatment of their cattle is very important

to Peter and Gill. Low stress handling techniques are used to ensure the cattle are quiet and easy to manage. The animals’ needs are paramount and efforts are made to ensure they receive the best care at all times.

Care of the land and environment is also of great importance and their interests now extend to land management and sustainable farming techniques. A ‘whole farm plan’ has been

developed, which includes fencing off creeks and erosion areas,

revegetating with native trees and shrubs.
